About Stark FDRU
The Fire Department Rehab Unit (FDRU) of Stark County is a volunteer, non-profit, 501(c)3 fire company comprised of retired and current firefighters dedicated to providing ground support services to fire departments and emergency response personnel in Stark County and the surrounding communities.
The physical and emotional demands on emergency response personnel at the scene are exhaustive. Physical exertion, smoke, hot temperatures, exposure to the situation’s environmental conditions including adverse weather and toxins leave firefighters and emergency personnel depleted.
Attending to these needs at the scene protects the general well-being of firefighters and helps return them to peak effectiveness while allowing the ground team’s resources to be fully directed toward the situation.
Medical Command is provided by University Hospitals' EMS Training & Disaster Preparedness Institute.
